The 1622 Club is named after the year the Brentwood School statutes were signed - declaring that pupils should be instructed in Virtue, Learning and Manners, values which are still held today.
Joining the 1622 Club can take many forms, but all offer the opportunity for any individual or group to know their support is funding a full bursary place every year. We ask any 1622 Club donor to commit to at least two years of funding, with the hope that you or your group are able to make it an ongoing commitment with funding for a full place each year in perpetuity. This way the bursary can become an integral part of the School and Foundation.
The bursary will be formally awarded and renewed each year using our rigorous selection process. You will be updated on the progress of your bursary student.
When funding a full bursary individually or as part of a group you have the opportunity to name the award. Examples of groups who may come together to fund a 1622 Club:
There is great power in this collective giving. For example, if a group of 20 OB friends of 1998 leavers came together and committed to a Direct Debit of £80 a month each, with gift aid, that would fund a full bursary place to Brentwood School! For less than a gym membership you’d be funding a place and creating an exponential impact of everything that bursary award student goes on to achieve.
