Brentwood School is proud to be the North East London and Essex Hub for the National Modern Languages SCITT (NML SCITT), the only national school-centred initial teacher training provider to exclusively train secondary Modern Foreign Languages teachers. We are looking for passionate linguists with sound subject knowledge who have a desire to motivate and inspire young people and have the potential to train to become successful teachers of Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, German, Italian and Mandarin).
The NML SCITT has an expanding network of the best state and independent schools, delivering high quality teacher training across the country and our trainees have the opportunity to train to teach pupils aged 11-16 in two contrasting schools within the local area. Our growing number of Partner Schools includes: Brentwood Ursuline Convent High School for Girls, Becket Keys Church of England Secondary School, Anglo European School, Bancroft’s, New Hall School, Sacred Heart of Mary Girls’ School and Westcliff High School for Boys.
The subject-specific SCITT is different from other routes to Qualified Teacher Status because trainees spend more time working in schools from the start of their training and study the educational theory alongside teaching in the classroom, with our trainees receiving subject-specific training fortnightly from subject specialists at Brentwood School. The NML SCITT has designed an ambitious curriculum to ensure that trainee teachers are equipped with the subject and professional knowledge needed to be successful classroom teachers of Modern Languages.
If you, a family member, or friend would like to find out more about training as a Modern Languages teacher with the North East London and Essex Hub at Brentwood School, or sign up for one of our upcoming Taster Days, you can find more information on our website: https://www.brentwoodschool.co.uk/we-are-brentwood/job-vacancies/scitt-hub
Please share this with anyone you think may be interested in training with us.
