Sam Loader (OB 2002-2010), grandson of the well-loved Neil and Delphine Loader, is preparing to take on the 2025 London Marathon on 27th April in their memory. Running in support of Hospice UK, Sam is on a mission to raise vital funds for hospice care.
At age 17, Sam witnessed firsthand the compassionate and invaluable care provided by St. Francis Hospice to his grandmother, Delphine, during her battle with cancer. The support she received allowed her to spend her final days in comfort and dignity, surrounded by care professionals dedicated to easing her pain.
Now, following the passing of his grandfather Neil Loader (OB 1940-1946) in October 2024, Sam is even more determined to make a difference. "Hospice care eases the pain of death and dying, letting people focus on living, right until the end." he explains. "Too many miss out on this essential care. Hospice UK fights for hospice care for all who need it, now and forever."
Click here to visit Sam's JustGiving page and help him reach his target of raising £2,500 for Hospice UK - for everybody who deserves dignity and care in their final days.
