Described as “The glitziest star-vehicle yet conceived for the off-West End, perhaps even for London theatre”, WhoDunnit (unrehearsed) is back for its third fundraising run since launching in 2019 and an Old Brentwood has been at the heart of the show since it’s conception.
The innovative play currently on stage at the Park theatre features a different celebrity taking on the role of the Inspector in each performance without any rehearsal and without ever having seen the script.
Since taking part in the original workshop to explore the concept Lewis (OB 2006-2013) has gone on to feature as an actor and collaborator in each of the versions of the play, sharing the stage with a number of prolific actors, comedians and personalities including Gillian Anderson, Jim Broadbent, Joanna Lumley and more recently fellow Old Brentwood Griff Rhys Jones (OB 1965-1971). Lewis has taken on more creative responsibility over time, now directing the members of the community chorus involved in the current show as well as playing the role of the Train Conductor.
Lewis said “The play itself is a joy to be a part of; every show is entirely different depending on how each guest inspector decides to play the role and we make sure to keep them on their toes with plenty of gags and surprises. Audiences always leave with a smile on their face and all the proceeds go towards helping the Park continue its work artistically and charitably within the wider community of Finsbury Park”
