Sam Fraser (née Hill), OB 1985-87 is a presenter by day and stand-up comic by night.
Since 2004, she has worked at the BBC in the South, as a local radio presenter and as a TV weather presenter, but also performs as a stand up. In 2018 she took her show, 'Stand Up, Weather Girl' to the Edinburgh Fringe; it explores the conflict between her feminist principles and the sexualised role of the 'weather girl.'
She has now written a book based on the show, 'Scorchio! Surviving a Stereotype', which she describes as 'a club sandwich of comic memoir, TV history and interviews with weather presenters past and present'.
Her manuscript has been picked up by the UK's top crowdfunding publisher, Unbound.com, and when enough people pledge their support for the book it will finally make it into print!
Sam writes, "Brentwood School features significantly; I conjure the smell of the Ashton Common Room - Kouros by Yves Saint Laurent and teen boy sweat - as well as the content of my English lessons and lectures from the school doctor!"

Sam is also due to speak at the OB Dinner on 22nd April!
