Congratulations to Steve Brocklebank (OB 1963-1974) who has been awarded a Queen’s Volunteer Reserve Medal (QVRM), for his service with the Army Reserve, in the New Year Honour’s List.
The medal was created by Royal Warrant of Queen Elizabeth II on 29 March 1999, and usually only 13 of them are awarded in any year.
Steve joined the then Territorial Army, whilst at Southampton University, in 1976, and retired last year after nearly 45 years service in the Royal Engineers.
Most of his employment was in Infrastructure Engineering, being involved with the design, supervision and management of projects worldwide, as a reservist. However, he was also mobilised for periods of service in Iraq, the Middle East and Estonia.
