Why have you decided to join the challenge as a member of the support crew?
Having been support crew last year and enjoyed the experience, I wanted to do it again. Last year I didn't know what to expect, but I ended up delivering first aid, feeding food to the tired and hungry, driving the minibus down very narrow lanes and hunting for lost people. The education that students get here is wonderful and I wish that every child had access to this opportunity. Supporting the bursary programme is a small way I can help those, that would not normally be able to afford this opportunity.
Can you give us some insight into your training regime??
I have been preparing for this all my life! Driving my children around from activity to activity, feeding them frequently with nutritious food and the ocasional treat and telling them to stop moaning and to suck it up. This is the only preparation I need. However in the interest of improvement I might be baking and taste testing lots of cake over the summer as I am sure all the participants might need some treats during and after their endeavours.
Any message for potential supporters?
If everyone who was able could just give a little donation, together we would make a big difference to someones life. Having watched the students themselves talk about how transformational their lives have been by coming to Brentwood, please know that the money you donate does have a big impact.
