I, like the others, have witnessed what a bursary can do for students
Why have you decided to take part in the challenge?
Always up for a challenge like this. Last year's challenge was a great start and this years should be a similar in difficulty with some testing cycle routes. It will be great to tread the hills that many an ex Brentwood student would have trodden before on the Adventurous Training trips to the Christian Mountain Centre and more recently to Marle Hall. Tryfan, the best, in my opinion, of the Snowdonia National Park hills followed by the Glyders and a moment to savour on the cantilever stone before heading down the Devils Kitchen. A great day out and some cycling!
Can you give us some insight into your training regime
I do cycle quite a lot and have managed to get some hill walking in this year already. So far I have managed around 3,200 kms of cycling, some on Zwift on the smart trainer due to the lack of dry weather so far this year. I have walked some North Yorkshire Hills and been with Gold D of E to the Chilterns and soon off to Dartmoor for their assessed exped so that should help with the mountain legs.
Any message for potential supporters?
I, like the others, have witnessed what a bursary can do for students and have a real impact on them and their future prospects, so what better reason do you need to support our fundraising.
