OB travel company Winged Boots launches transformative bursary at Brentwood School

We are proud to confirm OB company Winged Boots as the Brentwood School Foundation's first 1622 Corporate sponsor,  funding a full bursary placement at Brentwood School's Sixth form. The first recipient is from Marshalls Park Academy in Romford, a school local to the Winged Boots offices, and is set to enrol in September 2024.

The 1622 Corporate Partnership is a commercial version of the Foundation’s 1622 Club, allowing companies in the Brentwood School community to directly support the provision of a full bursary each academic year.

Winged Boots is one of the fastest growing travel companies in the UK, servicing luxury leisure and corporate customers. It is owned by two sets of brothers: Harry and George Hastings and Daniel (OB 1989-1998) and David Ox (OB1990-1997). Daniel and David were recipients of a transformational bursary, providing access to a Brentwood education that would otherwise have been out of reach. The brothers credit their School experience as equipping them with the confidence and mindset to have a successful entrepreneurial career. Now, as well as sending their own children to the School, Daniel and David are using their success to pay forward the support they received.

“The bursaries gave us the opportunity to attend a school that, due to financial circumstances, we would never have had a chance to go to,” Daniel Ox says. “Being able to pave the way for others who are starting out in a similar position is something that has immense personal significance to me,” . David Ox adds. “It’s an honour and privilege to give back to the school that shaped me into the man I am today, and I look forward to other local businesses joining the 1622 Corporate Partnership in the near future."
